Det er spillutgaven av Guinness-boka som har kåret verdens mest populære rollefigurene, basert på stemmer fra 13.000 spillere samlet inn via Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition nettside.

Nintendo topper lista, med elleve spillfigurer representert og også de to øverste plassene på lista.

Ingen Lemmings

- De tre mest populære figurene – Mario, Link og Master Chief – kommer ikke som noen overraskelse, men det er flere utelatelser som folk garantert vil reagere på, heter det i en kommentar fra Guinness, som er gjengitt hos nettstedet Brainlazy.

- Hverken Marios bror Luigi, Mortal Kombats spydkastende legende Scorpion, Bio-Shocks skremmende Big Daddies, eller de nydelige lemenene fra Lemmings kom med på lista.

- Men videospillegender som Sonic, Gordon Freeman, Cloud Strife og Pac-Man havnet innenfor topp ti takket være deres respektive berømte spilltitler og betydning i populærkulturen, skriver Guinness.
